There were E mitchelli at the same location. It is possible, because of the way the buds look. You may also be thinking that the flower is deeper than is typical of E deserti. But they weren't out properly so I guess it is hard to tell. Typically, flowers on E mitchelli are clumped together and are on the crown of the tree/shrub. The other E mitchellii on the site weren't in full flower. I thought the shrubby structure was more typical of E deserti in this pic.
